How to apply

Students with undergraduate or graduate backgrounds in any quantitative discipline are encouraged to apply. See the general Admissision Requirements for further information.

The department does not have a formal application deadline and applications are accepted at any time. However, to guarantee full consideration, applications for Fall Semester must be received by February 1 and applications for Spring Semester by October 1.

All accepted applicants will be given full consideration for financial support, including both research and teaching assistantships as well as fellowships. Applicants will be informed of their admission and support status within roughly two months following the recommended submission deadlines described above. Selected domestic students will also be invited to visit the department at that time.

Prospective students should complete the following:

  1. Review detailed application instructions online.
    Domestic applicants (U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents)
    International applicants

  2. Complete the online application and pay the application fee.

  3. Submit official transcripts from all college-level institutions attended, whether or not a degree was awarded, directly to the Office of Admissions:

  4. Submit three letters of recommendation. Each recommendation should consist of a cover sheet and a letter, sent directly to the department:

    College Station, Texas 77845-3150

  5. GRE scores should be reported directly to Texas A&M University by ETS (institution code 6003).

  6. International applicants must also submit:

    • TOEFL scores, reported by ETS directly to Texas A&M University; and,

    • Statement of award of the degree or diploma. The degree statement should be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions at the International Graduate Admissions Processing address indicated above.
