Last week’s major weather event was the passage of a cold front across the state at the end of the workweek.  Drier conditions replaced humid conditions, and temperatures were unseasonably cooler.  The cold front passed through the state on the 2nd and 3rd, and brought with it light precipitation, and isolated patches of heavier rain.  College Station reaped the benefits of this storm system with an impressive total of 2.80 inches on the 3rd.  Locations such as Galveston and San Antonio also saw precipitation with 1.46 and 1.90 inches respectively on the 5th.

A few storm events occurred as well.  In Leon County, Texas on the 4th a thunderstorm gust of 60 miles per hour was reported.  The 7th of the month brought hail and high wind reports to West Texas.  Andrews, Hockley, Midland, and Dawson Counties encountered, 0.75, 1.00, 1.00, and 2.75 inch hail respectively.  Midland Texas, in Midland County experienced a 65 miles per hour wind gust during a thunderstorm on the 7th as well.
