Volume 16 Number 10.3                                                                                              October 22, 2003

A dome of high pressure continues to dominate the state of Texas.  This week temperatures have ranged from the mid to upper 80’s, and even 90’s in some areas such as Wichita Falls, and Denton.  Very little to no precipitation has fallen in the past few days, and chances continue to look slim until the end of the workweek when a major cold front treks across the state.

Forecast for the Week

For the remainder of the week of October 20th:  Skies will continue to be clear for the remainder of this week. Clouds will return to the state however this weekend, as a major cold front approaches. The chance of precipitation will increase toward the end of the week with the front.  High temperatures will cool significantly after the cold front passes.  The Panhandle and Low Rolling Plains can expect high temperatures in the 60’s, and lows in the 30’s.  The Upper Trans Pecos, West Texas, South Central, and North Central regions will have highs in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s, and low temperatures in the 40’s.  This cool weather should persist for a few days.
