There was no severe weather for the first week of November, but the passage of a cold front in the middle of the week brought a glimpse of winter weather to the state.  Between the 5th and the 7th as the cold front passed through, high temperatures across the state dropped some 20 – 30 degrees.  Most of state received a lot of precipitation during this time, the maximum being in North Central Texas where Dallas-Fort Worth recorded 1.18 inches of rain on the 7th.

 

Forecast for the Week

For the week of November 10th:

For most of the state, the passing of another cold front means chances of showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the later half of the week.  Far West Texas, the Trans Pecos Region, and Edwards Plateau will have highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s for the first half of week, and then highs in the 60s and lows around 50 after Wednesday.  Highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s will occur in the Panhandle until Wednesday when highs will drop to the 50s with lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s.  The first part of the week will have highs in the upper 60s and lows in the 50s for Southern Texas followed by highs in the 50s and lows in the upper 30s for the second half of the week.  Deep South Texas and the Coastal Plains can look for highs in the upper 70s to 80s and lows in the 60s for most of the week.  Highs in the 70s dropping to the 60s later in the week with lows starting in the 60s and falling to the 50s will be seen in South Central Texas and the Upper Texas Coast.
