The week of June 9th brought high temperatures in the 90’s, and lows in the 70’s.  A few areas in Texas received ample rainfall this week, helping to play “catch-up” with the drought stricken land. Totals from Thursday are as listed: Beaumont/Pt.Arthur-1.49”, College Station-0.79”, Lufkin-0.72”, and Tyler with 1.46 inches of precipitation.  A low pressure system and a warm front helped to trigger showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Friday. Friday the 13th, many severe weather sightings were reported to the Storm Prediction Center, including hail, high wind, and one tornado report in College Station.
