The week of June 2nd was quite warm, with a few severe weather reports.  Severe weather was reported on the 2nd, with one tornado report in Llano County, and large hail and high winds as well reported around the state.  June 3rd and 4th brought much of the same weather to western and central Texas.  There was a report of a tornado in San Jacinto County as well as in Duval County on the 5th.  Some areas in Texas received some needed rainfall this week.  A frontal system triggered numerous showers and thunderstorms on the 4th, and 5th.  From the Houston Chronicle the 2-day totals are as listed: Abilene-2.08”, Brownsville-1.37”, Austin-1.81”, Galveston-1.88”, Lubbock-1.16”, Victoria-1.08”, and Waco-1.32”.   After the front passed, temperatures were a few degrees cooler.  The week concluded with temperatures slightly below normal. 

 

Forecast for the Week

For the week of June 9: The forecast is calling for high temperatures in the 90’s. Low temperatures will be in the 60’s in the Panhandle to the mid 70’s near the coastal areas.  There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for the majority of the work week.
