Our region also experienced a wtter than normal September with a monthly precipitation total of 7.61 inches. More than half of the monthly precipitation that fell on Easterwood can be attributed to Tropical Storm Frances which brought heavy rains to East Texas from the 10th to the 12th of September. On September 11th alone, 4.31 inches of rain were reported at Easterwood Field. Dreary conditions continued on into the 3rd week of the month when a stationary trough was parked over East Texas from the 14th to the 17th.
During the last week of September the sun was able to break out from behind the clouds and warm the temperature readings in the Brazos Valley to once again above normal values. On the 28th for example, the mean daily temperature was 11F above normal.
