| Monthly Review | ||||||||||
| September 2006 was an average month in terms of temperature. The mean minimum temperature was exactly on | ||||||||||
| the normal value, and the overall monthly mean temperature was just 0.2° below average. However, despite a few | ||||||||||
| periods of heavy rain, the precipitation total was -1.22" below average. The area received 69% of its normal rainfall. | ||||||||||
| Most of the rainfall for the month came in a three day span from the 16th-18th. Over this period 2.27", of | ||||||||||
| precipitation was reported, which is 84% of the 2.69" reported for the entire month. The 2.03" reported on the 18th | ||||||||||
| was a record daily maximum and accounted for 75% of the monthly rainfall. Only one new temperature record was | ||||||||||
| reported, which was a record high minimum temperature on the 22nd with a value of 81°F. A strong squall line | ||||||||||
| moved through the area on the 23rd, but there were no severe weather reported in the area. The system only | ||||||||||
| produced precipitation along the frontal boundry, which resulted in a precipitation total of only 0.39". After this | ||||||||||
| frontal boundry passed through, temperature cooled down for three days before warming back up into upper 80s | ||||||||||
| and lower 90s. | ||||||||||
