Monthly Review
November was a wet month for the Brazos Valley continuing the already-wet year.  The month began with a cold
front that dropped over an inch of rain and lowered temperatures dramatically.  A high pressure system settled over
the state, and temperatures warmed back up to their November normals.  Rainfall was at a minimum with only a
trace being recorded over two weeks.  A second cold front did pass over the area, but temperatures did not drop
much lower than the 50s.  Beginning on the third week of the month, rainfall started to increase dramatically.  Two
frontal systems stalled over the state, and heavy rainfall was the result.  From the 17th through the 23rd, 7.57" of
rain fell on College Station including a 24-hour maximum of 2.94" on the 22nd.  A cold front moved through on
the 24th effectively ending the week of storms.  Things returned to normal until the final week of the month when
another cold front brought more rain and near-freezing temperatures to the area.  For the month, 9.23" of rain fell
at Easterwood Airport making this the 5th wettest November in College Station history and the 2nd wettest in the
past 50 years.  Through November 30th, College Station has received 55.20" of rain making this the 5th wettest
year in College Station history.  Only 5.84" are needed in December to break the annual precipitation record.
