Monthly Review
The Brazos Valley experienced a roller coaster of temperatures in the month of November.
The average temperature at the beginning of the month ranged from 9-12 degrees above normal.
A major cold front passed through the area on the night of the 6th, dropping highs on the
7th by 30 degrees compared to the 5th.  This system brought light showers to the Bryan/College
Station area.  By the 10th temperatures moderated to the upper 70's, and the flow of moisture from
the Gulf of Mexico returned. The next cold front approached the Brazos Valley on the 16th, which
acted as a instability factor for the production of showers and thunderstorms.  College Station
received over 1/2 of the total precipitation for the month of November on the 16th, with 2.04 inches.
This system lingered on top of Texas for a few days producing showers and thunderstorms in the
central portion of the state.  The skies cleared on the 18th, leaving 70 degree temperatures in its
wake.  The 23rd of November brought another cold front to the Brazos Valley, with drier and cooler
conditions behind it.  A record low temperature of 33 degrees Fahrenheit was reported on the 24th.
The low temperature of 33 degrees was reported on the 25th, and 29th as well.  Other records were
reported this month on the 7th with the lowest maximum temperature at 54 degrees.  The highest
minimum temperature of 69 degrees was reported on the 11th, as well as on the 12th.
The month of November ended on a slightly warmer than normal note, and a year to date rainfall of
42.09 which is nearly 6 inches above normal.
