Monthly Review
The month of March was a bit cooler and wetter than normal for the Brazos Valley.  The month began with a cold
front that passed through on the 2nd bringing 0.64" of rain and below normal temperatures.  Temperatures rose to
above normal levels, but a low pressure system kept the area wet through the first week of the month.  The second
week was much warmer as temperatures climbed over 80° on the 12th before a cold front passed over on the 14th
bringing light rain and well below normal temperatures.  Temperatures were 10° below normal to start the third
week of March, and they even dropped to near freezing on the 17th.  The Brazos Valley saw severe weather on
the 18th and 19th with reports of hail up to 2.00" in diameter.  College Station reported over 2" of rain between the
18th-20th as a result of the low pressure system in the area.  The following week saw another warming trend as
temperatures peaked in the low 80s before another cold front came through on the 25th.  Temperatures again
dropped to 14° below normal before rebounding to the monthly maximum of 86° on the 30th.  The month ended
with warm temperatures and a bit of rain due to a low pressure system.  For the month, College Station received
3.81" of precipitation which brings the 2005 total to 12.80", over 4" above normal for the year.
