| Monthly Review | ||||||||||
| March was quite warm for the Brazos Valley. The average daily temperature of 66.2° was 4.6 | ||||||||||
| degrees above normal. The minimum temperature on the 3rd tied the record of 69° set back in | ||||||||||
| 1979. Six other near records occurred during the month, all for high minimum temperatures. | ||||||||||
| Precipitation was normal for the month in the Brazos Valley as 2.78" fell. There were 11 days | ||||||||||
| with measurable precipitation, however, four more than the average. There were also 8 days in | ||||||||||
| which a trace amount of precipitation fell. The largest rainfall came on the 16th and 17th as a | ||||||||||
| total of 1.19" fell over those two days. The rain fall was due to several cold fronts that made | ||||||||||
| their way across the state throughout the month. For the year, the Brazos Valley has received | ||||||||||
| 13.24" which is 155% of the normal rainfall total up to this point. The second half of the month | ||||||||||
| was much warmer as the high never dropped below 71° after the 14th of March. | ||||||||||
