Monthly Review
In a month where the rain normally falls in the beginning, with the warm temperatures coming at the end of the month,
this June proved to be the opposite.  No precipitation and an average high temperature of 96°F plagued the 2nd
through the 15th.  On the 16th through the 22nd, precipitation was recorded everyday as a tropical system brought
rainfall to the area, including flooding rains in Houston.  The average high temperature during this period dropped to
89°F.  Temperature remain slightly below average for the remainder of the month, and only a trace of precipitation
was record from the 23rd through the end of the month.  Overall, the mean monthly temperature was 81.8°F, which
is only 0.2°F above average.  The average high was 92.7°F, 1.0°F above normal, while the average low was 70.8°F,
which is 0.7°F below normal.  Despite the numerous days of precipitation, the monthly total of 3.36" was 0.43" below
normal, which puts the yearly total 0.99" below normal at 19.59".
