Monthly Review
June was definitely a contrast compared to May for one reason especially and that is
precipitation. College Station received more rain in the month of June than it has had in the past
few months together.  The monthly total of 6.64 inches was nearly 3 inches above normal
for the month.  However a rain deficit of 3.87 inches still remains for the year-to-date total.
There were also quite a few close records this month.  Warm, muggy air caused a low temperature
of 78 degrees Fahrenheit to be experienced on the 23rd of the month.  This temperature was the
2nd Highest Minimum Temperature on that day.  The beginning of the month was slightly above
normal but then was slightly cooled down by a cold front that moved into the area on the 6th.
However by the 9th temperatures were on the rebound and in the 90's. The highest maximum
temperature was experienced on the 11th at 97 degrees Fahrenheit. The 12th of June began a 5-day
stretch of much needed precipitation for College Station.  Within those 5 days 4.02 inches of rain
fell.  The end of the month was extremely predictable with high's in the lower 90's and lows
in the lower 70's.  The last 5 days of the month were slightly below normal.
