Monthly Review
This past July was right about par as far as temperatures were concerned, though it did not appear things would be that
way at the beginning of the month. High temperature records were either set or tied four out of the first seven days of
the month, including 102° on both the 6th and the 7th. Thankfully, temperatures moderated the rest of July and the
century mark was never threatened again. The only other temperature record set this July was tying the record low
on the very last day of the month. A five-day stretch of rain from the 14th-18th brought temperatures down to below
normal levels, including the 16th and 17th, days that saw highs only reach the middle 80s. Temperature for the last two
weeks of July could be characterized as very normal. Rainfall in College Station was above normal for the month,
thanks in large part to 1.98" of rainfall recorded on the 14th. 1.25" of precipitation on the 7th cooled temperatures
and marked the end of the 100° plus heat. No severe weather was recorded in the Brazos Valley for the month.
