Monthly Review

February began with temperatures averaging 15F to 20F above normal as dry and partly cloudy skies persisted through the 7th. Temperatures fell on the 7th and remained slightly below normal through the 16th as nearly 2" of preciptation fell over this period. Thunderstorms moved through the Brazos Valley on the 20th totaling 1.34" of precipitation at Easterwood Field. There were 11 precipitation days this month: A noticable difference from last February. For the year, we are now just over an inch and a half above normal as many locations in Central Texas have been threatened by flooding. On a whole, the rains have been good for growing since the precipitation has fallen steadily throughout the past couple of months. It is probably safe to assume we will have a very green spring in the near future!
