| Monthly Review | ||||||||||
| The Brazos Valley experienced a wide range of temperatures in the month of April. | ||||||||||
| A late season cold front on Easter weekend dropped temperatures 22 degrees from the | ||||||||||
| previous day with a high of only 57°F. Yet, in three days, temperatures rebounded back into the | ||||||||||
| upper 70's.Toward the middle and end of the month, numerous upper level disturbances traveled | ||||||||||
| across the state leaving heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity in their wake. On the 10th and | ||||||||||
| 11th, 0.60 and 0.29 inches of precipitation fell respectively. Numerous hail and high wind reports | ||||||||||
| were made on the 10th as a result of the incoming cold front. Just to the north of College Station | ||||||||||
| in Hearne in Robertson County, high winds were reported on the 10th when trees were reportedly | ||||||||||
| blown down onto power lines. Severe weather reports were also made in Burleson County. | ||||||||||
| Heavy rainfall was reported on the 24th and 25th, with a 2-day total of 2.49 inches due to an | ||||||||||
| approaching cold front that was much weaker than the mid-month cold blast. | ||||||||||
| The month of April concluded with temperatures mild, and in the 80's, and with above normal | ||||||||||
| precipitation of 4.21 inches, a departure from normal of 1.01 inches. | ||||||||||
