| Monthly Review | ||||||||||
| August brought more typical summer-like weather to the Brazos Valley. As opposed to June and July, which | ||||||||||
| saw below average daily maximum temperatures and above average rainfall, August was marked by above average | ||||||||||
| daytime highs and below average precipitation. High pressure built in across the region in the middle of the month | ||||||||||
| bringing with it the warmest temperatures of the summer. College Station recorded three straight days of 100º | ||||||||||
| temperatures from the 17th through the 19th. Average daily temperatures from the 10th through the 15th were | ||||||||||
| several degrees above normal. The rest of the month was highlighted by average to slightly above average | ||||||||||
| temperatures as southeast Texas remained under the influence of high pressure. Although there were 9 precipitation | ||||||||||
| days recorded during the month, the monthly total of 1.40" was over an inch below normal. The average monthly | ||||||||||
| temperature of 85.4º F was 0.7º F above normal. | ||||||||||
