H Drive Usage Policy

  1. There will be a 4 GB quota on each user's home space. (You can determine how much space you are presently using by executing the command "du -sk ." when you're in your home space. Output is in kilobytes. (type "man du" for more information about the du command).
  2. If the user exceeds this quota, he/she will get a message letting them know that they have 7 days to get below the quota. If they do not, their account will be locked.
  3. Users cannot, even temporarily, exceed 4.5 GB usage.
  4. There is no back-up for the home space beyond the safety provided by a RAID system. The users should take appropriate action to ensure integrity of their important files.
