Faculty Position in Weather and Forecasting
The Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in the field of weather analysis and forecasting. Research expertise in one or more of the following areas is of particular interest: synoptic meteorology, mesoscale meteorology, numerical weather prediction, and data assimilation. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a prominent research program and to teach key undergraduate and graduate courses, with an emphasis on those related to weather and forecasting. This position is budgeted at, and expected to be filled at, the assistant professor level with nine months per year of state salary support, although outstanding applicants at other levels might be considered.
The Department of Atmospheric Sciences (http://atmo.tamu.edu) is one of the largest of such departments in the world, offering degree programs at all levels and research activities across the full spectrum of atmospheric sciences. Among the facilities available for research and teaching are two jointly-operated mobile 5 cm Doppler radars, the Houston lightning detection and ranging network, and high-performance computing resources at the TAMU Supercomputer Center.

Faculty Position in Severe Weather and Mesoscale Meteorology

Research expertise in one or more of the following areas is of particular interest: radar and other observational technologies, data analysis, and short-range forecasting. The position is expected to be filled at the assistant professor level, although outstanding applicants at other levels may be considered.
