To get the forecast discussion for College Station, the weather interface is used again and the same four step process followed.

Weather Interface
Toolbar About the interface How to use Station lists

Step 1: Type in 'hgx' in the city identifier. College Station does not issue its own forcast discussion because it does not have its own National Weather Service office. Houston (hgx) is the forcast office for CS and is the identifier you need. You'll have to find out elsewhere which forecast offices cover other stations.

Select a station

Enter three letter STATION IDENTIFIER or @ and two letter STATE IDENTIFIER (i.e. cll -- College Station, @tx -- all Texas reports)

Step 2: Enter the time period using the pulldown menu. We are looking for the latest forcast discussion (option 0). This is the default time period so just leave that and skip to step 3

Select a time period

Step 3: Select the type of observation or forecast. To get the forcast discussion we need to have the Forecast Data menu selected. It is the fourth menu down, click in the tilted square right after the black dot to select it. Then move the mouse to the big grey bar whose current value is " 11: NWS Zone Forecasts ". Once over the bar click and hold the left mouse button and move the mouse until option " 5: NWS Local Forecast Discussion " is highlighted, then release the mouse.

Select data category and type

Step 4: Submit the request. Submit your request and hopefully you will get an answer.
